What does PEMDAS stand for and how do you use it in an equation #math

PEMDAS stands for parenthesis, exponents, multiply, divide, add, subtract. It is the order of operations in mathematics. What this means is when evaluating a math problem you have to complete each section in this order to arrive at the correct result. So start with anything inside the inner most parenthesis then once you’ve done all the parenthesis, complete the exponents, then do multiplication, then division, then add, and finally subtract.
