Was the civil war fought over slavery?
My #history teacher last year told us the #civilwar was not fought over slavery, my teacher this year thinks that it was. Why was the civil war fought? Was it just to preserve the union or was the real reason to abolish slavery as my new teacher says?

The civil war was fought over slavery and independence. The south and the North has many differences such as the ownership of slaves.
